This is mainly me ranting about my experience with the Quest 2. Pissed me off so much I made a post about it.
The Bugs
These are the list of bugs I have or are experiencing with the quest 2.
Broken Battery Read
This not the most annoying bug. But breaks my charging cable…. I think.
When I’m using my VR connection software WiVrn along with my cable (not wireless). The battery level reads 99 or remains unchanged even when I open the dash. This was not a issue back in mid 2025. My cable regulates the battery level to 75 and then starts charging. So when it cant see the actual battery level. It it doesn’t charge properly. So I periodically unplug my quest to get a new battery read. And I THINK that works. Not entirely sure. It seems to last longer.
WiVrn Crash On Awake
If my headset turns the screen off via the power sleep setting. WiVrn will crash and I have to either reconnect it at my PC, or restart the app on standalone.
Controllers Have Jitter Drift
I have sent four controllers in three times for new refurbished ones. And I still have to spray my right controller with contact cleaner every few days else when I move my joystick right. It moves left for a split second or more then goes right.
Boundary Broken On Awake (solved)
If my headset turns the screen off via the power sleep setting. The Boundary will either be offset or gone and I cant redraw it until I restart the quest. And I then still have to redraw the boundary.
Solved after factory reset.
Floor Is Wrong Level On Every Start (solved)
When I start my headset I have to go and set floor level.
Solved after factory reset.
Annoyances
Not necessarily bugs. But really annoying to deal with.
WiVrn Isn’t a Main Menu App
I cant pin WiVrn or have it in my app list. I have to go to the left menu → unknown sources → then open WiVrn when I want to launch WiVrn on the headset instead of launching it on my PC when plugged in.
Meta Ask For Face Scan On Account Creation
Pretty self explanatory. Bad and privacy invasive.
Phone App Required For Just Using The Damm Thing
The Floor Level In The Home World Isn’t My Set Floor Level
I float above the ground in the home world. Wasn’t a thing in the old home world in 2020. My floor is correctly where it should be in games.
If you can avoid it. Don’t buy anything from meta. Their vibe coded crap keeps getting worse about every other month.
Meta is also just a bad company in general. Just look even a little into what they have done.
